Mark and I have talked about traveling the world since our very first date. Mark always talked about it like something that was going to happen, I thought of it as a distant dream. Now, a move across the Atlantic, a wedding, 10 vaccinations each, way too many trips to the travel store, and countless hours spent on the internet doing research later, we have packed our house into storage and hijacked two rooms in Mark's parents house to finish up our last weeks in England before we leave.
To be honest, the enormity of this trip hasn't really hit me yet and probably won't until we step off the plane in Delhi but I am unbelievably excited about stepping completely out of our comfort zones and really challenging ourselves. I can't think of a better way to discover ourselves and really learn about each other than 8 months of totally new experiences together.
So, the plan now is for Mark to finish up work (12 more days to go-not counting bank holidays). We have a trip to Jersey (a Channel Island) to sell Mark's car back to the dealership he purchased it from. A trip home to the US to say our goodbyes to family and friends and THEN WE LEAVE....
Official Countdown: 35 DAYS

Hey girl, I'm totally impressed by what you and your husband are doing. It's totally brave and adventurous. I hope to one day follow in your footsteps and travel to places I never imaged I would ever see (other than the internet).
ReplyDeleteI added this blog to my favorites so I can easily check it from time to time. I interested in keeping up with your trip. Hehe, I'm excited for you :)
